Some of you may have seen the story of the young girl who was befriended on myspace by a good-looking boy. Turns out the profile was a fake created by the parents of another young teen who had a falling out with this girl, Megan. Megan was an overweight, shy girl.
The parents used this lie to torture this 14-year old girl. The abuse at worst caused and at least contributed to Megan's suicide.
But the "adults" names (I use the term adult loosely here) are not being released--they are being protected by the local press and the police, though the facts of the case are not in much dispute (some minor issues, but the story even from the bastards prospective is grotesque).
Frankly, I don't see any reason to protect them from the public shame as long as it's not libel. |
