Description:
Ever been in a math class where the teacher asked the students to speak out about the subject, regardless of knowledge? How about a physics class? Biology? Of course not. The teacher (if he were qualified) lectured on the subject, and you listened. The lecturer may well have asked questions to measure the progress of the class (as feedback) but he did not ask for enlightenment from the students. And that's because an uneducated person cannot enlighten the class on real subjects.

Now fast forward to today's "social science" classes. Students' opinions and feelings are considered as valid in the area as the knowledge and experience of the professor. Perhaps this is appropriate considering the rigor in much of social sciences today, but in theory this is ridiculous. An unknowledgeable, inexperienced person cannot contribute to the base of knowledge-it's ridiculous to believe so. Perhaps moronic would be a better term.

So what should we think of our friends on the left who loudly proclaim that people who know absolutely nothing about national and international issues should all dash down to the voting booth? What should we think of their making the registration process as easy and simple as possible-ensuring that the lazy as well as the idiotic "contribute"?

It's obvious--liberals assume the lazy, incompetent, or stupid will vote Democratic. Not a bad assumption, I suppose. But even if they would tend to vote Republican, it's simply wrong.

I would suggest this, if you cannot:

* Name your state's senators
* Name your representative
* Name the 3 branches of national government
* Explain the difference between the Senate and the House of Representatives

you should not vote.

If you:

* Believe we are in a recession (note: the recession ended in November 2001)
* Cannot explain 2 major policy stances a candidate has (NOT "he's for the poor," "he'll make health care affordable," "he'll bring us together"...actual specific policies and actions proposed, e.g. specific tax proposals, specific foreign policy stances, military or gun control votes and policies, etc.).

* Cannot name the current Vice President

* Believe Michael Moore makes documentaries.
* Believe France is an ally.
* Believe D.C.'s strict gun control laws lower crime.
* Believe that Kerry pays more in taxes than the "fat cats" (Kerry and Theresa paid taxes equaling less than 13% of their total income under tax law with a top rate of 35%. George Bush paid more than 30% of his income in taxes).

then you are part of the moron bloc and should not vote.
