OK, that was a wise-acher lead in. But it speaks to something I'm sure we all are thinking: why aren't "comedians" writing more of their own material? Why is this writers' strike shutting down shows that are ostensibly open discussions?
Has our world become so scripted that no one--not even a talk-show expert--can speak extemporaneously? Is the Drew Carry crowd ("Whose Line is it Anyway?") the only creative group left? Please don't tell me that THEY were acting from a script! |
